On September 24,2006, The Sebastian Quartet, the first of three professional chamber ensembles, will open the Mayoral Chamber Concert Series. Four remarkable members of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra make up one of the Midwest's outstanding string quartets. Each musician has a distinguished performance career and has won many awards for his or her proficiency. They have thrilled audiences as an accomplished and versatile chamber music ensemble - dedicated to performing chamber music at the highest level. The second concert, February 11,2007, features the duo pianists Yuki and Tomoko Mack, who have won prizes in several prestigious international competitions. They have performed on the Dame Myra Hess Series and on Live From Studio One, both broadcast on WFMT. The Jupiter Trio will perform on April 29,2007, the final concert in this series. This exceptional piano trio has received worldwide critical acclaim for their concerts and recordings. They were awarded first prize at the Osaka International Chamber Music Competition and became the first American ensemble in the history of that competition to bring home the gold medal. These world class chamber ensembles will perform in Tinley Park at the Victor J. Andrew Center for the Performing Arts.
